Sarah Louisa Hudson, BMA
Owner / Videographer / Photographer
Sarah is a videographer, photographer, and the owner of Studio Optica. She holds a Bachelor in Media Arts from Emily Carr University in Vancouver, Canada. Her background is writing, directing, and producing independent films, specializing in documentary and dramatic film production. She is inspired by classic and contemporary cinema from around the world, and is a firm believer that life is more interesting than fiction. She applies all this to her work with Studio Optica.
Her passion for photography began when she was a teenager, becoming first comfortable with analog photography - working in the darkroom and dealing with analog film and cameras - before transitioning to digital. While today her work with Studio Optica is mostly digital, she still loves analog photography.
Sarah is a programmer for the Slamdance Film Festival and volunteers as a pre-screener for the Portland Film Festival.
When not making media, she loves art, cartooning, watching films, learning languages, and drinking coffee. She posts about many of these things on the Studio Optica Instagram.
